Sandhills Alkaline Lakes

We have continued collaborations in the Sandhills of Nebraska (see more), including an interdisciplinary project focused on lakes and wetlands in the western Sandhills in and around Crescent Lake National Wildlife Refuge. Here, water bodies that are close to one another vary in water chemistries, including some that are extremely alkaline. The following short films highlight activities of the Sandhills Alkaline Lakes Collaboration Initiative and feature the extreme environments, researchers, biological diversity, and seasonal changes in this region.
